The N.C. Department of Commerce Local Employment Services Office assists individuals in getting the services and training they need to get back to work. DWS is actively working with state and local business partners to coordinate services and create opportunities for job seekers needing assistance. More specifically, the Department’s local workforce offices are ready to assist individuals who need help getting back to work and finding the training they need. Goodwill’s Career Connections Centers offer free, personalized services to aid in your job search. Services include resume/cover letter/application assistance, skills assessment, career counseling, access to computers and high-speed internet, help with interviewing skills and placement services. These nationally career certified counselors work with students at the middle and high school levels. The CDC places special emphasis on creating a career plan, investigating career interest and coordinating of workforce development contacts for the students they work with. RCCC's R3 Center is an adult (18 years+) career development center and is located in downtown Kannapolis. R3 re-focuses, re-trains and re-employs people who are under or unemployed by assessing and profiling skills, aptitudes, training and academic credentials, identifying future career interests and mapping out a plan for career growth. R3 sponsors an ongoing selection of workshops, seminars and individual counseling as part of their career development services. All R3 Center services are free of charge.
