Shore wins CTE Scholarship
Ms. Haley Christine Shore is the 2013-2014 Outstanding Career and Technical Eduction (CTE) Student of The Year and the winner of the $500 Scholarship from the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce. The scholarship is awarded yearly to a qualified Rowan-Salisbury School System student, who has been involved in CTE coursework. Rowan County Chamber Scholarship winners are academically strong and is involved in community and civic activities.
Ms. Shore is a student at South Rowan High School and a senior in the Class of 2014. She is the daughter of Ms. Julie Talbert and Mr. Mark Shore.
Ms. Shore is the South Rowan High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter President and serves as the FFA Southwest Region President. While in FFA at South, she has served in various other capacities for the chapter and has participated and won awards in local, state and national events. For the 2013-2014 school year, she serves as the National Honor Society Vice-President. Also, Ms. Shore has been involved in numerous community and civic causes , such as Unity Church Mobile Meals, the Main Street Mission, and Children's Barnyard.
After graduation, Ms. Shore plans to attend NC State University and major in Agriculture Education in hopes of becoming an Agriculture teacher.
